Monomoy Regional School District releases new Strategic Plan
Working in collaboration with educators, students, families, and community members, Monomoy Regional School District has created a new Strategic Plan for 2024-2028. This plan will guide the operation of the district’s schools in the coming years with a focus on the needs of students, providing guidance and identifying priorities for a wide range of actions – from professional development to curriculum planning to family engagement.
Through focus groups and an extensive survey, the entire school community participated in Monomoy’s Strategic Planning process. The focus groups and the survey were administered by consultants from Teaching and Learning Alliance, who guided Monomoy through this process. Students, educators, families, community members, and local leaders were all invited to participate in both the focus groups and the survey. The Strategic Plan Development Team then compiled the data from the focus groups and surveys, and worked thoughtfully to create this Strategic Plan.
The team narrowed down the desired outcomes to three general categories: Portrait of a Graduation Implementation; Learning and Academics; and Being and Wellness. Within each of those areas, there are specific goals and action steps, distilled by the Strategic Plan Development Team to be the key points to address on the path to realizing the plan.
The voices of the members of the Development Team were an integral part of the process; and the members included Cherian Armstrong, Joe Auciello, Scott Carpenter, Christie Cutone, Abigail Dudley, Scotti Finnegan, Tina Games, Cynthia Gushee, Charles Gruszka, Meredith Henderson, Shelley LaSelva, Joy Jordan, Michael MacMillan, Robin Millen, Ryan Millen, Lissa Potts, Jo-anne Sheehan, Meaghan Smith, and Martha Stephens.
A Strategic Plan Implementation Team is being created to help guide the execution of the Strategic Plan. This team will help create benchmarks that address the realization of the goals within the Strategic Plan, including the timelines, measurements, and parties responsible.
Monomoy’s Strategic Plan for 2024-2028 can be found on the district website at www.monomoy.edu/strategic-plan. In the future, the website will also include a dashboard to monitor the implementation steps and resulting metrics.
